This office was established in 1994 for the purpose of evaluation, assessment , monitoring and promotion of academic standards at the Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT) Since, typical of universities worldwide, evaluation of teaching forms part of the University's quality assurance process and is also one element in assessment for Academic Review that is comprised of teaching, research and service.

The evaluation of teaching provides information to instructors about how effectively their teaching is encouraging student learning and to help them improve their teaching and accumulate the necessary views and suggestions toward improving the academic standards of the AUT which is one of duties of this office. Teaching Evaluation
Student course evaluations:
Student course evaluations shall be obtained through a web-based questionnaire (course evaluation forms), administered in such a way as to afford all the students in a given course or class a reasonable chance to respond. The evaluation by student starts online which mostly begins weeks after the last emergency drop out of a course week, and ends up at the start of the exam scheduled time. After questionnaires have been completed online, they are secured by this office and shall not be revealed to teacher or any administrative body until final grades for the course have been approved by the appropriate dean. The assessment to student questionnaires shall be analyzed by the office in such a way as to present a fair and accurate picture of the opinions of the respondents. Where data from student questionnaires are used, a mean, standard deviation, frequency distribution, and number of eligible respondents shall be provided. The data derived from student questionnaires are used by the administrative bodies for further assessment but they shall be presented to the instructor concerned, sufficiently in advance of their being used for any purpose to allow an instructor to respond to them in writing.
Survey of Graduates
Undergraduate and graduate student:
Students after their graduation will be asked to fill a web-based questionnaire (evaluation forms). This questionnaire is designed in such a way to determine the overall satisfaction, experience and recommendation of student with the program of studies, regulations, department, administrative, offices and services at the Amirkabir University of Technology.
Note to students and graduated
students 
Please note that your evaluation is an important mechanism used by your instructor, department/ faculty for making improvement to the course, as well as to the overall teaching program at AUT. The teaching evaluations are important part of a professor's teaching portfolio, which is required by the university administration for tenure and promotion status. You're responsible, thoughtful and constructive feedback will be much appreciated. The results of the evaluation will be carefully reviewed and will be forwarded to the instructor only after the final grades have been submitted to the registrar office.
